Sherborne Girls (formally known as Sherborne School for Girls) is an independent day and boarding school for girls located in Sherborne, North Dorset. The school was founded in 1895 by Mr. and Mrs. Kenelm Wingfield Digby. There are currently almost 400 pupils attending Sherborne Girls with over 90% living on campus and residing in the seven boarding houses.

Curriculum

All girls are required to take English, Maths, a Science subject, Religion and a Foreign Language. Most girls take nine to ten GCSEs and three to four A Level subjects. Some subjects are taught jointly with Sherborne School as part of the joint co-operation enjoyed between the two schools.

Sherborne Girls offers the IB programme through a partnership with Sherborne School.[1] Both schools also collaborate in various school activities and functions such as theatre productions, joint societies and social activities.[2]

Girls are divided into 7 boarding houses as most are boarders. Approximately 10% are day pupils but they are fully integrated and encouraged to participate in weekend activities.

Facilities

The campus includes a sports centre, newly opened in 2007 and benefiting from a 25m six lane swimming pool and a fully equipped fitness suite. Sherborne Girls also has squash courts, badminton courts, 27 tennis courts, a floodlit Astro Turf hockey pitch, climbing wall, grass pitches and dance studio.
